Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year
from Rob and Craig

Every year we can expect autumn to follow summer, with shorter days and cooler nights.  Then we know winter will arrive, with darkness arriving early, the sun seemingly reluctant to rise, and with a sense that the earth, or at least its northern hemisphere, is taking a well-needed rest.  Yet, when day is short and frost even comes to California windshields, all major Northern spiritual paths counter winter with the warmth of celebration.  For some, it is light against the darkness, for others, it can be new life in a slumbering world or warmth and renewal in the sleeping earth.  Though traditions and beliefs differ, they all include family, light, festive food and drink, music, and giving.  Our ability to see beyond winter's darkness to the future with hope is what makes us truly human, filled not only with reason but also with optimism and vision, guided by faith.

Hold close all that you hold dear - the people you love, the dreams you hold, the ideals you strive for, the earth that gives us so much, and the universe we all find ourselves a part of and connected to each other through.  May the coming year bring you closer to all those treasures and more.

We invite you to join us in revisiting 2007…
